We are pleased to announce the release of Clientexec 5.5.0 Release Candidate 1. This means that the final release of Clientexec 5.5.0 is right around the corner!

What’s new in this version?

Free Domains

You’re now able to offer FREE domains to your clients when they sign up for specific packages and package terms. This means you can offer a free .com domain when your client signs up for an annual web hosting package!

CC & BCC email on ticket notifications

We’ve also added 2 new fields under the “Custom Fields” tab of a support ticket, so you can add CC and BCC emails to all support notifications for that ticket

Template Changes

To make things easier to customize, we have merged our common and default templates into 1 template (called default). This will allow you to copy the whole template directory to a new template, or simply copy one file (and the full path) to a new template, to override the view you are trying to edit.

Automatic PayPal Subscription Cancellation

Automate, Automate, Automate! We’re working hard to automate everything possible for your business. Now, when clients request to cancel a package, if they had a PayPal subscription, it will now be automatically cancelled. When a staff member deletes or cancels a package or user, the same will happen. To make things even easier, we’ve also added this functionality to the invoice and recurring fee list

Order Processor Enhancement

You can now set the order processor service to also automatically activate and provision manually added packages (that your staff add).

PHP Version Compatibility

With Clientexec 5.5.0, we have increased the minimum version of PHP to 5.6. This increase is to allow for you to experience the most performance from Clientexec, as well as giving us access to all the new features that come with PHP5.6. Over the next couple weeks, we will be thoroughly testing Clientexec on PHP7 to fully support this version as well.


Just a reminder, that this is a Release Candidate, and there may be minor bugs. This release is not meant to be run in production, however it should be stable enough to do. We’re also always looking for your feedback, please post on our Feature Request System any features you’d love to see in future releases of Clientexec.

Development Updates – September 6

Over the past few weeks we’ve been pushing strongly ahead with new features and bug fixes, and we’re really excited about some new features coming in Clientexec 5.5. Here are some of the new features to expect in version 5.5.

FREE Domains!

This feature has been requested numerous times in the past, and we’re proud to announce that starting in Clientexec 5.5, you’ll be able to offer FREE domains to your clients when they sign up for specific packages and package terms. This means you can offer a free .com domain when your client signs up for an annual web hosting package! More information on this important feature will be coming shortly.

Ticket Search Filters Enhancement

You will now be able to create custom ticket search filters that filter based on the subject or content of the ticket.

Default Run-Times for Automation Services

We’ve made it easier for you to get up and running by updating the default run times of our automation services to what we believe should be how most companies operate. As always, you can modify them to your liking. We also plan to introduce a more user friendly way at changing the way you select when a service works in a future release!

PHP 5.6 and invalid mail server SSL certificates

Starting with PHP 5.6, PHP started to verify certificates on SSL connections. While the correct fix for this would be to replace the invalid certificate with a proper one, this might not always be achievable, so we’ve implemented a new setting which allows our mailer to ignore these errors.

CC & BCC email addresses for ticket notifications

Ever need to have a staff member, or a 3rd party notified about a support ticket? This is now possible with the addition of CC and BCC fields for each support ticket.

Minor Bug Fixes

We’re not perfect, and some bugs do make it through our QA process. As always, we’re constantly squashing these bugs as they are found or reported.

We recently launched a new Feature Request System, and we’re always looking for feedback. Have a feature you always wanted to see in Clientexec? or you don’t like the way something works? Let us know, and we’ll be happy to discuss the best solution to it for everyone.

New Requests System

Starting today, we’re releasing a new way to submit feature requests, and bug reports to Clientexec.

In the past, we’ve dabbled with different systems, such as our forums, but that really lacked the ability to gauge interest from the community on each request.

We’ve added most of the feature requests from the forums as well as some others we’ve received, but if we missed yours, please feel free to post it again!
